Vortex Spring / Panama City Beach, Florida

Kick off local dive season with a trip to the Florida Panhandle! We’ll dive Vortex Spring on Saturday and then dive Panama City on Sunday (conditions permitting). This trip is for certified divers only.

Vortex Spring is one of the closest Florida springs to the Mid-South. Explore the upper basin filled with bass, catfish, blue gills, and more. Maybe you'll find the small freshwater American eel! Complete your PADI Peak Performancy Buoyancy certification while here.
We'll dive Vortex on Saturday. Weather and conditions permitting, we'll make the quick drive to Panama City Beach for a couple of Gulf dives. The sunken bridge spans and wrecks are great hiding places for a variety of critters. Complete your PADI Wreck Diver certification on these dives. We'll dive Vortex or Morrison Springs, if we are unable to dive in Panama City Beach.
We'll spend Friday and Saturday nights with shared accommodations in an AirBnB in nearby Ponce de Leon, FL. The AirBnB can hold up to 8 divers.
Trip Fee Schedule
Certified divers: $300 includes: tanks, weights, 2 days diving fees at Vortex, air fills, lunch on Saturday, light snacks, drinking water, and indirect supervision from an Easy Divers Divemaster. Gear rental: add $50
Please note: Wetsuits are required, and beanies and gloves suggested for the 68 – 70-degree crystal clear, spring water. Ask about our dive traveler discount on wetsuits purchased prior to departure.
PANAMA CITY BEACH DIVING- Hopefully conditions will allow us to go to PCB on Sunday morning for a 2-tank boat dive. If so- there will be an additional cost for the boat dives. We estimate the additional cost will be $100.
8 divers are required for the trip to run at posted price.
Please note: Your trip deposit and payment are a promise to travel. Reservations are confirmed and staff engaged, so please understand that trip money is non-refundable. Also, please make sure that you place your trip deposit as soon as you know you are going. We must have 8 confirmed travelers for the trip to run as scheduled. Divers in training are limited to 6 so that we can insure maximum attention and supervision.
TRIP DEADLINE CLARIFICATION
All of our trips have a listed deadline. Each trip budget is based on a minimum number participants for a trip to run as scheduled. The deadline helps us to confirm that there is enough interest to keep the trip on the books. As long as we meet the minimum, the trip will run. We encourage you to call for availability if you would like to sign up after the deadline has passed. Often times we can add you on up until just a few days prior to departure on the local trips. TOBACCO POLICY
Remember that diving and smoking/vaping/smokeless tobacco products do not mix. We are a no tobacco product group. Under no circumstances will there be tobacco, vaping, or smokeless tobacco products used at the dive site or group accommodation areas.
